This image deals with a play of shapes. Note if you will the negative shape of the policeman's pistol. The cubist shifting of background shapes. It is printed from two plates inked a la poupee. Each plate carrying 3 or 4 colors and areas surrounding each shape highly polished. We see a costume party. Note the black top hat against the dark background. Orphan Annie, now an adult, holds a cigarette and perhaps a cocktail, if we could see her other hand.
